Beaches, mountain peaks, picturesque villages and one of the world’s finest examples of Palaeolithic art are among the attractions in Cantabria, a region of Spain on the north coast. Cantabria’s main city is Santander, a sea port with several fine museums including the Museo de Bellas Artes.

SANTANDER
Santander is an elegant city which extends over a wide bay with views of the Cantabrian Sea. Its marine and commercial tradition is linked to a century old history of tourism, which has its main attractions in the famous El Sardinero beach, the promenade and the La Magdalena peninsula.

LAREDO
Situated between the river Treto and the bay of Santoña, Laredo is one of the main tourist towns on the Cantabrian coast. It has one of the biggest and most beautiful beaches in the region: La Salvé, an immense stretch of sand measuring some five kilometres.
The town is structured into three very diferent zones: the old village and its neighbourhood, the area of the newer suburbs and the extension of this towards El Puntal.
