MUNICH

The Bavarian capital of Munich is a world renowned city of art, science, technology and sport. Munich’s most popular event is its famous Oktoberfest Beer Festival which runs every year from mid-September until the first Sunday of October. Marienplatz is the square in the centre of the city and should be the first stop visitors should make with its many events throughout the year such as the city’s Christmas Markets. A must-see is the Frauenkirche, which is a church located within the city and is regarded as the symbol of Munich.

BERLIN

The most important city of the 20th Century. Berlin is a modern city with strong connections to its past. It has a number of great attractions including the TV Tower – the largest building in Europe open to the public, the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. You’ll also come across Potsdamer Platz which is a symbol of the new Berlin having been transformed into the modern hub of the city with its shops, restaurants and bars. Despite being the largest city in the EU, Berlin has a surprisingly large number of parks with a third of the city covered by greens spaces so there’s plenty of places to sit, relax and watch the world go by.
