24.06.2016 – 22.01.2017: Palazzo Reale in Milan presents an exciting journey into the creative world of Escher with over 200 works distributed in an exhibition divided into sections. The exhibition starts from liberty style, pausing and focusing on Escher’s love for Italy until his trip to visit L’Alhambra and Cordova, where his interest in geometric shapes was born.

During the period of his artistic maturity, Escher develops a particular affinity with the themes of historial Avant-garde, such as Futurism and Surrealism, partly influencing its development.  A final section is devoted to documenting the way the creative universe of the artist has influenced the world of culture, publishing and 20th century music.
